Every now and again I stumble across a piece of design that combines many of my interests, below is an example of just this. It's by a young illustrator called Matt Taylor, who has taken an infamous shot of former American President JFK and injected an Mexican style. I think its absolutely wonderful, my only objection is that its grey and black, whereas traditional Mexicana art is very bright and colourful. However I can see why the artist chose to do this, for one reason the original photograph that he has used for reference is in black and white. Also I think its appropriate for it to remain muted and serious because at the end of the day he was the leader of the free world, and if it were too colourful the message would be lost. The artist has many other pieces on his website that I like, particularly film orientated ones, but none came close to this in terms of personal impact.
