Blackpool Comedians Carpet
From the Source: 'The 1,880m sq installation is a collage of sketches and jokes celebrating stars from the heyday of music hall to the 21st century, including Morecambe and Wise, Les Dawson and Frankie Howerd. Bruce Forsyth's 'Nice to see you - to see you...nice!' and Tommy Cooper's 'Just like that' are among a selection of catchphrases also featured on the piece. Officials in the resort have proudly dubbed the carpet, which stretches across the Tower Festival Headland beneath Blackpool Tower, its 'Angel of the North...but horizontal'. The larger catchphrases can be seen from the summit of the tower. The carpet consists of 160,000 letters individually cut from black and red granite with blue concrete. Taking five years to make it was designed by British artist Gordon Young and cost £14million.'
